Terms of Service
1. Acceptance
By using Mangello you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. We may update these terms; continued use after an update means you accept the new version.
2. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information, do not impersonate others, and do not create accounts by automated means. You must be 13 or older.
3. Subscriptions and billing
Mangello Premium costs $9.99 per month and gives you 2 grocery scans per day instead of the free allowance of 5 scans per month. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically each month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Previous purchases can be re-activated with Restore purchases on the Premium page. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable; refund requests are handled by Apple.
4. AI results
Scan results, recipes, nutrition information and storage tips are generated by an AI model, and are sent to a third-party AI provider only after you allow AI processing in the app. They may be incomplete or wrong, are informational only, and are not medical, dietary, allergy or food-safety advice. Always check labels and use your own judgement, especially for allergies and spoilage.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of the profile details, photos and recipes you add. An optional profile photo is stored so the app can show it back to you. Photos you scan are sent to the AI provider to produce a result and are not kept by Mangello afterwards. Grocery lists, pantry items, family members, reminders and recipes you save stay on your device. Mangello has no public feed, comments or other user-to-user sharing, so your content is not published to other users. You are responsible for having the rights to what you upload.
6. Acceptable use of uploads
Do not upload content that is illegal, sexually explicit, hateful, violent or that infringes someone else's rights, and do not use Mangello to store material you have no right to. We may remove such content and suspend accounts that break these terms.
7. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from You → Danger zone. This removes your uploaded files, profile and scan history permanently, and you can do it immediately. An App Store subscription is managed separately by Apple: deleting your Mangello account does not cancel it, so to stop billing you must also cancel in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions.
8. Prohibited conduct
Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the app or other accounts, upload malware, scrape or overload the service, circumvent scan limits or subscription checks, or interfere with normal operation.
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from You → Danger zone; this permanently removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms. Account deletion does not cancel an active subscription — cancel that separately in your App Store settings to stop billing.
10. Disclaimer and liability
Mangello is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind and we do not guarantee an error-free or uninterrupted service. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.
11. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of your place of residence where mandatory consumer law applies. For questions, complaints or legal notices, use the support contact published on our App Store listing. See also our Privacy Policy.
